PORTAL FAQS

Portal FAQs

What is web page address for the portal?

The portal address is: https://portal.investmidlands.co.nz/

If you are logging in for the 1st time, follow this link: https://portal.investmidlands.co.nz/auth/setuppassword

If you have already logged in and have a password, follow this link: https://portal.investmidlands.co.nz/login

How do I set up a login?

When you click the ‘PORTAL LOGIN’ link you will be prompted to enter your email address and create a password. You will need to use the email address associated with your Midlands account – which is the email address this email has been sent to.

Is the portal an ‘app’?

No, the portal is a web based portal. You do not need to download an ‘app’. You can access from your internet browser at any time.

Will you still email me my quarterly investor communications?

Yes, email remains the main way we will communicate with you. We will still email investment confirmations, withdrawal confirmations, quarterly investor communications, your annual tax summary and any other important information. However these may look a little different to previous communications and there may be some slight changes in the timing of when you receive these. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

If I have more than one account will I see them all?

Yes, you will be able to see all accounts you are connected to, either as an account owner (eg a joint account) or as another role eg a trustee, executor, director, signatory, president etc.

Do I have to use the portal?

No, the portal is available for investors who wish to use it but it is entirely your choice whether you wish to use it or not. There are many benefits to using the portal It provides a convenient way for you to monitor your investment balance, provides tax position and make changes to your account.

If I have a joint account, can we both access the portal?

If you have a joint account and you both share the same email, only one of you will receive a portal login invitation. That’s because, for security and audit requirement reasons, each user needs to have their own unique email address.  This allows us to identify who has logged in, made any changes, submitted requests through the portal etc.

If two investors share the same email address, we have assigned the email address to the ‘primary investor’ (being the first person named on the application form).

What if I use a generic email address for my investment eg ‘hello@companyname.co.nz’?

If you use a generic email address, for security reasons we can only provide ‘read only’ access to the portal. You will be able to view your investment but not initiate any changes to the account or instructions. This is because for security reasons, we need to be able to clearly identify who has logged in, made any changes, submitted requests through the portal etc. If you want full access you will need to change your email address to a unique email address.

Can I give someone else access to my investment in the portal?

You can give a 3rd party access to their investment via the portal, should you choose to. However, this can only be ‘View Only’ access. They will not be able make changes or instruct on the account.

Will you still answer the phone if I call you?

Absolutely. We will still be available to contact 9am-4pm Monday – Friday and a real human will still normally answer the phone.

Is the portal safe to use?

The Investor Portal is protected by a range of modern cyber security measures designed to keep investor accounts secure. These include unique user login credentials, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), restricted access controls, continuous monitoring, and robust security frameworks that help safeguard against unauthorised access and cyber threats. Together, these measures provide investors with a secure and reliable way to access their investment information online.

Just an important reminder that Midlands staff will NEVER ask you for your password by phone or email.
